~ About Me ~

It’s me! The Myth Teen.

A myth is far truer than history, for a history only gives a story of the shadows, whereas a myth gives a story of the substances that cast the shadows
— Annie Besant

Growing up in Orlando, FL, I was constantly surrounded by stories. Sometimes, I would listen to poetry readings down at Park Avenue. Other times, I like spending hours reading different books at my local Barnes and Nobles.

But when I was eleven, I found my favorite stories: my first Treasury of Greek Mythology. On Christmas Eve, I was entranced by its illustrations of Gaia and Hercules. The combination of warm and cool colors and gold made the pictures seem alive - acting as a portal that pulled me from the real world into a realm dominated by myths. I even tried to paint the Trojan War on shards of broken dishes, hoping to find that sense of wonder with my own hands.

I hoped that this blog is a place for me to share my wonder—my inspiration and love for the myths. Enjoy reading :).
